We operate our Registered Red Angus herd with the goal of creating cows that produce calves with consistent growth and carcass development in a low-input system. One specific focus has been on acquiring and maintaining genetics that excel in the Red Angus Assocation’s GridMaster Index. Our mission is to produce excellent beef and to continue to build efficiencies in the grazing process sustainably by way of selective breeding. We keep all our steers for direct market beef and will be offering select females for sale in the spring and fall.
It is our goal to understand the genetic output of our females and select females based on actual daily gains. We are interested in the cows that have a 4-5 body frame score and hold condition year-round with a calf at their side. We calve half the herd April-June and the other half September-November.
